How Personal Financial Coaching Works
Coaching sessions are one-on-one (or two-on-one for couples) and tailored to your specific goals. We’ll start with a free consultation to hear your story, understand your relationship with money, and explore what kind of support is right for you.
The coaching journey typically lasts around six months, with monthly sessions designed to build momentum and create lasting change. At the end of that time, we’ll re-evaluate your progress and goals together. Many clients choose to continue meeting regularly for added accountability and deeper support—but the cadence and plan are always customized to fit your life and needs.
Money, budgets, and debt can feel overwhelming. But coaching doesn’t have to be. I’m here to make it approachable, empowering, and doable—so you can take control without the stress.
No shame. No jargon. Just real conversations, practical tools, and support every step of the way.

I’m Micah—a CPA, former teacher, and personal finance coach who’s passionate about helping people feel confident and in control of their money.
I began my career in education after graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Math Education. But after a year in the classroom, I realized my path was elsewhere. I returned to school, earned a degree in Accounting, and became a CPA. Since then, I’ve spent over a decade in public accounting, building a deep understanding of numbers, systems, and the emotions tied to money.
Today, I combine my background in teaching and finance to coach individuals and families toward financial freedom. My approach is practical, approachable, and built on real-life experience—because my wife and I use the same tools and principles in our own lives. We've been married for 10 years and are raising two daughters while living out the financial freedom I now help others achieve.
If money feels like a burden, I’m here to help you shift that story—so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and peace.
Imagine a life where money brings peace, not pressure.
That's the path we'll walk together.
FAQ
1. What exactly is personal finance coaching?
It’s one-on-one or couples-based guidance to help you take control of your money, build confidence, and work toward your financial goals. It’s not investment advice—it’s practical, everyday support.
2. Who do you work with?
I work with individuals and couples who feel overwhelmed by money or unsure where to start. Whether you want to pay off debt, build a budget, or just feel more confident, coaching is tailored to where you are.
3. What happens in the free consultation?
We’ll have a relaxed conversation about your financial story, what’s working, what’s not, and where you want to go. I’ll walk you through how coaching works and suggest a plan that fits your goals.
4. How long does coaching typically last?
Most clients work with me for about six months, meeting once a month for 60 mins. After that, we reevaluate and decide what ongoing support looks like, if needed.
5. Do you offer virtual coaching?
Yes! All coaching sessions are held virtually, so you can meet from wherever you are.
6. What if my partner and I aren’t on the same page with money?
That’s common—and one of the biggest reasons couples come to coaching. We’ll create a space for both of you to be heard and work together toward shared financial goals.
7. How much does coaching cost?
I offer a few different packages based on your needs and goals. We’ll go over those at the end of your free consultation so you can choose what’s right for you.
8. I’ve tried budgeting before and it never sticks. How will this be different?
That’s totally normal—and exactly why coaching helps. Together, we’ll build a budget that actually works for your life, not just one that looks good on paper. It’s flexible, realistic, and designed to last.
9. I feel embarrassed about where I’m at financially. Will I be judged?
Absolutely not. This is a shame-free space. I’ve worked with people in all kinds of financial situations, and my goal is to meet you where you are—not where you “should” be. You’re not alone, and there’s always a path forward.
10. Is financial coaching really worth the investment?
Yes—because financial stress has a cost too. Coaching gives you the tools, clarity, and confidence to make lasting changes. Many clients find they save more, spend with intention, and finally make progress toward goals they’ve struggled with for years.
